Aichi Biodiversity Targets
Aichi Biodiversity Targets are a set of action plans spanning over ten years (2011-2020) and aiming to protect biodiversity. Aichi Biodiversity Targets not only established specifications to strengthen the "biodiversity conservation", but also incorporated the overall blueprint into the systems of each country and region.
The short-term goal by 2020--"Effectively protect the ecosystem, and take action to stop destructions"
Aichi Biodiversity Targets have five "strategic goals" as the main structure and twenty "specific targets" as content. Based on these targets, each country/region could evaluate its current status of biodiversity and establish domestic laws and regulations.
